Error Description

ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1674 ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist in Package xle_legal_address_swi Procedure create_legal_address

Root Cause of Error

In a default Vision Demo Instance installation, the System Profile Option 'IRC: Geocode Host' is setup to a value of 'http://elocation.oracle.com/ibs'. Since the system could not connect to this URL, it throws out the error.

How to reproduce the error?

1. Go to General Ledger responsibility -> Accounting Setup Manager -> Accounting Setup
2. Go to 'Legal Entity' tab
3. Create a new Legal Entity and hit the 'Apply' Button. 
4. Error Appears

Solution

1. Go to Oracle System Administrator responsibility -> Profile -> System
2. Query the System Profile Option 'IRC: Geocode Host' at 'Site' Level 
3. Update its value to null, and save your changes
