1. To investigate the error you must check the adpatch.log and logs associated with the worker files. These can be found under following directory:

$APPL_TOP/admin/[SID]/log

If you don't know the directory path, then use this:

cd /u01/apps/[hostname]/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/[SID]/log

2. Look at the following files Patch error and log files

3. adpatch.log - this file is the adpatch log file. It simply gives details of what's displayed on the terminal while you are executing the patch

4. adwork001.log, adwork002.log etc - these are the exact files where you can see detailed error messages for the failed workers.

Assumptions

• Database is up and running (see more info here How to start or stop Database Tier in Oracle EBS?)
• adpatch utility has been used to run the patches (see more info here How to use adpatch utility to apply a patch?)
