Issue

Error comes after giving startx command on unix terminal:

Transaction Check Error: file /etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY from install of rhn-client-tools-1.0.0.1-32.0.4.el6.noarch conflicts with file from package oraclelinux-release-6:6Server-5.0.2.x86_64

Investigation done

In order to install GUI on Linux the following packages were installed:

• X window system

• Desktop

Further checked that the following packages were not installed:

yum list oraclelinux-release*

yum list rhn-client-tools*

Resolution

Simply install the following packages from yum repository to fix the above issue:

yum install oraclelinux-release*

yum install rhn-client-tools*

Reboot system and now issue startx command again on the terminal using users such as oracle or applmgr. The GUI window will now open without giving the above error. I could manage to start GUI using root user too after accepting a pop-up box for display warning.
